Team Member Scott Mueller, Founder and CEO

AppleTree.com's founder and CEO Scott Mueller has spent his entire career immersed in internet and telephony technology and has worked at the forefront of online sales technology at internet start-ups and Fortune 500 firms.

After graduating with a degree in computer science from UC Santa Barbara, and prior to founding and governing his own companies, Scott began developing turnkey e-commerce solutions to manage domestic and international transactions. He helped DHL enhance their international shipping, tracking, and management system and ran General Transactions, an e-commerce system development firm. Progressively larger-scale challenges followed, and Scott concentrated his application development efforts on cloud hosting for heavily-trafficked sites, including NHL.com, Perfumania.com, and Lycos.

A serial entrepreneur, in 1999 Scott raised $1.7M to found his first company, General Transactions. In 2001, he started NewServers.com without any investment and grew it profitably every single month. The company's success, and its sale in 2007, now allow Scott to focus exclusively on his latest venture: developing social network applications that will connect relatives in ways no genealogy site or software now can. Under Scott's technical leadership, AppleTree.com is poised to build the world's biggest interactive family tree – the one to which all humans belong.
